The former site of Fort Ord, is now an up and coming destination complete with two previously "off-limits" golf courses and some of the easiest beach access found anywhere on the Central California coast. Surfers, rock climbers, beachcombers and students from nearby California State University, Monterey Bay easily coexist on pristine stretches of coastal bliss, and so will you.
