A unique experience on the Monterey Peninsula, a real live chocolate factory with chocolate tunnels and belts, just like in "I Love Lucy." See giant truffles, turtles, caramels and more coming off the line. Tour the factory and see the giant kettles and the melters with 800 pounds of chocolate swirling around. We offer two food and wine tours: the Carmel Valley Gourmet Food and Wine Tour for smaller groups (6-15) and the Monterey Culinary Adventure Tour for larger groups (maximum of 25). Each tour features the locally grown fresh produce, food and wines of Monterey County and is designed to be fun and educational! Tours include a gourmet cooking class, lunch and/or dinner and wine tasting at one of our premium Monterey wineries. Tours are best during the summer/fall, however they can be offered year round. Georis Winery tasting facilities are located in the Carmel Valley Village. The property is enclosed by old adobe walls with an iron gate entrance. As you walk into the gardens you encounter a koi fish pond; marble tables located under olive trees provide a perfect shaded setting for relaxing and wine tasting. The inside of our old adobe is reminiscent of early California architecture, furnished with old Mexican antiques and a well-worn leather couch. A new grand piano finishes the setting as a backdrop to the interior. Our fireplace invites you into the gift area, which is made up of several rooms that contain unusual furnishings and gifts from far away places in the sun.

This 6-hour tour starts with a wine tasting and tour at Chateau Julien in the Carmel Valley, continues over scenic grades to Salinas and the Victorian birth home of John Steinbeck for lunch (included). We'll continue into the Salinas Valley, the "Nation's Salad Bowl," learning more of Steinbeck and the development of agriculture in Monterey County. Following the winery tour, we'll continue to Cannery Row to A Taste of Monterey to sample wines of Monterey County with a Monterey Bay View and commentary about Cannery Row completing Steinbeck's story.
