We'll pick you up at your hotel for this six-hour tour, which starts on the Monterey Peninsula at the family summer cottage in Pacific Grove where Steinbeck's ashes were laid for two days at the foot of the pine tree he planted as a child. We'll continue throughout Monterey and Pacific Grove visiting other homes the Steinbecks owned and occupied and many of the other places John and his family and friends frequented. We'll also bring to life many of the characters and places Steinbeck immortalized in his books, and learn of his life from his birth to his death in New York. We'll continue to Salinas to the Victorian house where Steinbeck was born and raised. We'll lunch there and later have free time at the newly opened Steinbeck Center before returning to the Monterey Peninsula. Ask about our audio tour tapes.
