Blagojce Stojanovski was born February 18, 1961. He and his younger sister Sonja are children of Mihailo and Alexandra, of families of long history in the city of Bitola, Macedonia. Blagojce received education in construction, architecture, and fine arts in Bitola, and continued his education in the United States. As a boy, his influences came from his father, his culture, and the rich historical heritage of his country. Blagojce's family traveled extensively during his childhood; he was exposed to a variety of cultures, people and artifacts of the Balkan regions, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Austria, Europe, and the former Yugoslavia. After service in the army, Blagojce was given charge of the Architectural Conservation and Restoration Department in the county of Bitola, where he directed restoration of many ancient churches. In 1986, Blagojce visited Australia, researched the art of the area, and showed his own work in local galleries. At the island of Krk in Croatia, he worked as Technical Director of Conservation and Restoration for buildings and fine artifacts, where he employed his skills on one of the oldest Catholic churches in the Balkan area. Blagojce moved to the United States in 1988, continued his education, and established himself as a Fine Artist. His work is now internationally recognized and owned by private collectors and art galleries throughout Europe, Australia and the United States. Embodying a wide variety of mediums, Stojanovski's oeuvre includes bronze, marble, sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, murals and original frescoes. His favorite subject is the human figure. In 2003 Stojanovki supervised realization of the John Steinbeck Mural in Salinas, which is the largest mural in California, USA. In 2004, he opened the Carmel Valley Art Center & Carmel Valley Art Academy, where his art collection is on permanent exhibit in the Blagojce Fine Art Gallery. In 2005 he founded the prestigious International Macedon Academy of Fine Art, where his expertise in the fine arts is available to art students of all ages. Recently Blagojce has been working on a series of drawings, paintings and etchings of children and scenes of immigration of the Eastern Europe (Balkan) area during 1960-80. "For the child is the symbol of innocence, but also innocence betrayed. In today's world, the negative forces of war, materialism, poverty, sexual exploration, and the blind predatory influence of modern media assault the virtue of the children and all humanity." Blagojce first presented his art in public at the age twelve, at the International Children's Exhibition for Fine Art. His work was noticed and well accepted by art critics. After this first successful exhibit, many others have followed; his work is now in private collections and art galleries throughout Europe, Australia, and America. Blagojce's subjects are very rich, and range from abstract to ecclesiastical arts. Monterey Herald March 6, 2001 Masterworks from Macedonia Walking into the Pacific Grove Art Center to witness Macedonian artist, Blagojce Stojanovski's works of sculpture, paintings, etchings and drawings is like a voyage into the past where classical art at its finest is displayed in grandiose style. Stojanovski's art is a reflection of this artist/explorer's travels aboard from the Balkan Peninsula, growing throughout greater Europe and evolving into the Western world where the ancient stylistic past merges with a modern significance. Like Picasso, Stojanovski clearly can work with a range of motifs. His talent is obvious as one enters the gallery. Massive Greek sculptures and reliefs in plaster dominant the back wall, and viewers are immersed into this classical Aegean world two thousand years hence. One does not witness such grandeur in the New World. Stojanovski's drawings reveal his excellence as an artist capable of mastering many mediums. In this show, his charcoal, graphite, and ink sketches follow a free expression with particular insight into the emotional connections between humans' passion for horses, and the delightful memories of the simple pleasures of childhood. His work shows depth as he captures all aspects of the human and animal spirit, all blended together with beautifully flowing lines, full of energy, motivation and temperament. This show represents a classic style of art, which has been greatly neglected in this area for far too long. Blagojce Stojanovski's brave work brings back what this modern world has been missing since the turn of the twentieth century, great art.

Jewelry Books Vintage Clothing China Glassware Linens Home Furnishings Toys Sports Memorabilia Holiday Decorations The Carmel Canning Company warehouse #2 is one of the few remaining authentic and unchanged Cannery Row structures from the Steinbeck era. From 1927 until the end of the sardine fishing era, it served to house canning supplies and finished products on two floors. You can still see remnants of the great old endless conveyor belt that was used for moving crates from one floor to the next. The original integrity of the structure is visible with its exposed posts, beams and trusses. After the sardines moved on, the building housed Nichols Plumbing for several decades until our purchase in 1994, thus saving it from the wrecking ball. Our application to the City of Monterey for “Historic Structure” status was granted after the 1994 purchase. Our site was the first building on Cannery Row to be so designated. The restored Mall opened in June of 1995.
