Monterey County is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Dramatic coastline, towering forests, tranquil meadows and an abundance of wildlife make it a premier destination for nature lovers. Some come for the scenic views; some for the boating, hiking, bird or whale watching; others come to get away from it all. Whatever the reason, Monterey is a treasure that you just have to experience firsthand.

This October, head for the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Fiesta del Mar (October 15), a lively festival celebrating ocean conservation with a Latin American accent. The event, free with regular aquarium admission, includes live entertainment and educational exhibits as well as bi-lingual feeding shows.
Also coming up this season is an annual aquarium favorite: Meet the Penguin (November 20-22). Kids will learn about the resident black-footed birds from an on-staff "Penguinologist," and can register to be the lucky winner who is invited up to pet one of the prized penguins.
For information, visit the Aquarium's website, or call 831-648-4800. |
