With his cowboy hat cocked on the back of his head, Sabu Shake was a legend on Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf, greeting guests at his restaurant, Old Fisherman's Grotto since 1950. For nearly five decades Mr. Shake, his wife Isabella, and their six sons have owned and operated the Grotto. Since the very beginning, the Shake family has dedicated itself to preparing and serving only the finest cuisine, offering fresh seafood from the Monterey Bay, caught daily on the family's own commercial fishing boats.
Their love of these waters led to the establishment of Monterey Sport Fishing, a three-vessel fleet based at the end of Fisherman's Wharf, offering exciting whale watching trips (in season), fishing charters and scenic harbor cruises.
