It's surprisingly easy to discover Monterey County on horseback. Numerous equestrian trails meander through diverse landscapes, from rugged mountain terrain to sandy beaches. April through December, Molera Horseback Tours leads group rides from Molera State Park, 22 miles south of Carmel in magnificent Big Sur. Pebble Beach Trail Rides invites riders to join them for beach and forest trail rides, offered four times daily from the Equestrian Center at beautiful Pebble Beach. Spectacular views can be had from historic Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley, 12.5 miles from Carmel. Individuals and groups can be accommodated at all three.
If you have your own horse, Garland Park, Toro Park, Zmudowski State Beach, and Jacks Peak County Park have equestrian trails for your riding pleasure.
