ELIGIBILITY: This prize drawing is open to legal residents of the U.S., who are 25 years of age and older. Employees of the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, its affiliates, subsidiaries, members, promotion and advertising agencies, subsidiaries and related companies and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children and siblings, and each of their respective spouses regardless of residence) and household members of each, whether related or not, are ineligible.

1. HOW TO ENTER/DEADLINES: Sweepstakes begins September 1, 2008 at 12:00:01 am Pacific Time (PT) and ends November 17, 2008 at 11:59:59 pm PT. To enter without purchase or obligation, sign up online or hand print your name, address, city, state, zip, day and evening phone numbers, email address and the words Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Monterey Plaza Hotel Giveaway on a 3 x 5 card, and mail in a stamped envelope to: Monterey County Convention & Visitors, P.O. Box 1770, Monterey, California 93942. Mail-in entries must be received by November 15, 2008.

Limit one entry per person and per valid and unique e-mail address throughout the duration of the prize drawing. If more than one entry is received from the same person or from the same e-mail address durng the prize drawing, all entries from said person or e-mail address will be disqualified. Entries may be subject to verification prior to prize drawing. In the event of dispute, entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry, provided such person meets all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.  Any entries not in conformance with these Official Rules will be disqualified. No responsibility is assumed by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau for lost, late, misdirected or illegible entries. All entries become the property of the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and will not be returned or acknowledged.

2. PRIZE: (1) One gift certificate for a 2-night stay for two in a Big Sur Spa suite at the Ventana Inn & Spa. Travel must occur between January 1 through April 30 or October 1 to December 31, 2009, based on availability and excluding holidays and special events. Gratuities not included. Approximate value: $1800. (2) A gift certificate redeemable for two Signature Spa treatments at Allegria Spa. Treatment must occur between January 1 through April 30 or October 1 to December 31, 2009, based on availability and excluding holidays and special events.Gratuity not included. Value is approximately $240. (3) One-hour guided hike. (4) One-hour yoga session. (5) Gift certificate for $75 for lunch or dinner at the Big Sur River Inn. No date restrictions. Gratuity not included. (6) $100 gift certificate for dinner for two at Nepenthe Restaurant. Dinner must occur between August 13, 2008 and August 13, 2009. Gratuity not included.

3. ODDS:The actual odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received.

4. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS/CONDITIONS: Prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No substitution or cash equivalent of prize permitted. Prize is subject to space availability. Federal, state and local taxes, if any, and any other costs or expenses related to acceptance and use of the prize not specified including gratuities, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Package redemption will be based upon availability and expires as per dates in prize details. Certain restriction and blackout dates may apply. Winner will be notified by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau after receipt and verification of Prize Eligibility. Prize will be delivered to a winner's residence, approximately 6-8 weeks after notification by the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau. Winner must take delivery within 30 days of notification of availability or prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner.

5. DRAWING: Prize will be awarded in a random drawing conducted on or about November 18, 2008 by Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, P.O. Box 1770, Monterey, California 93942 from among all eligible entries received.

6. NOTIFICATION OF WINNER/AWARDING OF PRIZE: The winner will be notified by e-mail and/or a traceable form of delivery within 21 days of notification.

7. LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: The Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau is not responsible for any late, lost, incomplete or misdirected entries, or responsible for incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the prize drawing; any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access of the Web site; any injury or damage to participants or to any other person's computer(s) related to or resulting from participating in this prize drawing, or downloading materials from or use of the Web site. If, for any reason the prize drawing cannot be conducted as planned by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau which, in the sole opinion of Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this prize drawing, Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the drawing and may conduct drawing and select a winner from among all eligible entries received for the drawing prior to the action taken. In no event will Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising out of access to and use of the Web site montereyinfo.org, or the downloading from and/or printing material downloaded from said site.
